Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

The premise of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is to understand how our thoughts, feelings and behaviors are connected. Through identifying our negative thinking patterns including unhelpful and destructive thoughts, we can change how we feel and the way we react, and take action within our experiences.

While a main focus is on exploring and restructuring unhelpful thoughts, CBT uses a variety of strategies to address these negative thought patterns. Strategies include, but are not limited to journaling, relaxation techniques, role playing, and practices that confront fears and expand perspectives.
